Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. James 5:14-15
Since the early days of the church the sick have come to be anointed with oil and prayed over by the community of faith. And we at St. Paul’s continue this tradition.
Any time there is a fifth Sunday of a month, about 4 times a year, we include a service of healing as part of our Sunday worship. And on each of those Healing Sunday, we implement our Card Ministry, sending cards of healing and prayers to a member of our church family who needs extra prayer.
Our congregation believes in the power of prayer, and our healing service extends this prayer and strengthens it for those who need healing.
