“And don’t for a minute let this Book of God’s Revelation be out of mind. Ponder and meditate on it day and night, making sure you practice everything written in it. Then you’ll get where you’re going; then you’ll succeed.” Joshua 1:8
Gail Hendricks has never set foot in New Jersey; she lives on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She has never met a single person from St. Paul’s in person. But, for the last 4 years or so, Gail has been an active participant in our Wednesday evening Bible Study thanks to God’s technology.
Gail writes, “I am not only strengthening my faith and learning more about the Bible but have “met” wonderful Christian people whom I now consider to be my good friends.”
BIBLE STUDY has given Gail new friends while strengthening her faith and helping her learn more about God’s Word without ever having to step outside her home in the Tar Heel State.
For years we have had ‘The Anchor Class,’ an awesome Bible study group meeting in the Jordan Room after church. Betty Chipman is now leading it and I know they would love to welcome new members for their adventures into God’s Word.
Patty Fish leads a truly special study group for women on Wednesday mornings from 10 am until 11:30. This fall they will be studying Shannon Bream’s book, ‘Mothers and Daughters of the Bible.’
Our Wednesday evening online (ZOOM) Bible study runs from 7:30 until 8:30. We are going to be discovering just who Jeremiah is to start the “new” church year. Wednesday evening Bible Study starts September 21st.
So, this brings us back to you. What would it take for you to join a Bible Study? To discover more about God, your relationship with God, and how you should live your life for God? A Bible Study at a restaurant? The Piston is willing to host one for us. An afternoon Bible Study? A Bible Study right after church? We already have the Anchor Class but do you want a second option? Another evening or perhaps a weekend Bible Study? An in-your-home or in-a-church-friend’s-home? Are you ready to lead one? If I add another Bible Study to my schedule it will definitely be streamed as well as in person so that individuals like Gail can join in.
As I talk about growing the church … strengthening St. Paul’s vitality for the coming years … and just connecting us more and more with God, the key building block is understanding God’s teaching for us and that comes from study.
PLEASE, PLEASE … tell me what it would take for you, your family members, and your friends to join in a Bible study group. My e-mail is pdatstpauls@gmail.com or just talk to me at church.
