St. Paul’s annual Mission Team to Red Bird wishes to send their most sincere thanks to each and every one who helped to make this trip possible. The donations and support of our various fundraising efforts allowed our group of five to travel and make a difference to some of the folks in the poorest community of Kentucky.

Our team worked hard to help serve those who are struggling in this world. They each made the decision to travel to Appalachia, understanding that work is needed to help make the lives of nameless poor people get a little bit better.

It does not take great skills to help the poor and the broken amongst humanity. But it does take a non-judgmental heart filled with compassion and an acceptance of Jesus’ challenge to all the faithful to actually live our faith rather than just state it.

Several times in his epistles Paul uses the phrase “pray that God may open a door.” There are many doors of opportunity before us each day to serve God through our faith. We are grateful to the members of St. Paul’s who contributed to open the door for us to go to Red Bird.
