When Pentecost Day arrived, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound from heaven like the howling of a fierce wind filled the entire house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be individual flames of fire alighting on each one of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit!
I am sure that you remember Pentecost Sunday at St. Paul’s because it was so incredible!!! So much joy and energy in church! An incredible level of love and the Holy Spirit was at work through the baptism of Lucy and the children of the church leading our service.
One thing that was special again were the number of individuals wearing ‘Pentecost caps’ in addition to wearing the red colors of Pentecost.
What is remarkable is that our major league baseball team that plays in Philadelphia also have chosen to usually wear red ‘Pentecost caps’ during their baseball games! And those amazing Phillies have turned their season around since Pentecost.
So I think it is only right that our church family heads over to Citizen’s Bank Park to cheer and wave and make a lot of noise for the Phillies. And, we have the perfect date for you and your family to join us … Saturday August 27th … HAVE AN EVENING with YOUR CHURCH FAMILY!!
We’ll have an amazing FREE tailgate before the game, so you don’t have to buy food inside the stadium! The tickets are going to move fast since the team is going to be challenging at the very least for a wildcard playoff spot!! The game even has a 6:05 start so everyone can be home early to get ready for church on Sunday.
So are you in? You coming to the game? Bringing some friends and family too!! We have some great seats in the 300 level and your cost is only $40!! The church will benefit too from your ticket purchase so make plans to be with your church friends … as we take St. Paul’s out to the old ball game to close out the month of August!
