Beloved, this one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead.
Dear Friends,
Are you ready to shred calendar year 2020 as much as I am? Ready to move on towards a time of hope, possibility, and once again doing all we can for all our neighbors? Are you ready to do what Paul wrote after the words posted above? He wrote, “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus.”
Ah yes, Jesus and His call for us. A call to love God and a call to love all our neighbors! A call to stand out from the world because we are His followers and people who believe in Him as the Son of God!
On New Year’s Day we will be holding a noontime worship service that I am calling the SHREDDING of 2020; it will be a complete worship service similar to last year’s New Year’s Day service but we won’t be having Communion since there are opportunities to come to the Lord’s Table on Wednesday morning and next Sunday morning during worship.
St. Paul’s has made it through 2020 stronger than ever! Thanks to so many leaders of our church we have increased opportunities to worship together, fed more hungry people, prayed with more individuals needing one-on-one prayer, helped more people in need, and continued to serve the children of our church. I am so thankful for each person who has stepped up in these bizarre times to make a difference as a testimony of their faith in Jesus Christ.
Finally, we know God has great plans for the ministry and missions of our church in 2021. We have several people wanting to join our church as members. We need each of you to share information about our church on your social media so others can discover this special church.
If I don’t write again to you in 2020, let me wish you a VERY HAPPY and BLESSED NEW YEAR! We are long past the time of saying goodbye to 2020 and all of its dark clouds! 2021 offers us hope and possibilities and I am looking forward to going through this New Year with all of you!
